Opportunities include prosecuting or defending felony cases in Boston or neighboring Quincy, representing purchasers of Boston Legal Services in civil issues, helping victims of human trafficking, advocating for immigrants’ rights, or working for the state or federal authorities. You can take part in BU Law’s professional bono program by volunteering to offer legislation-related service to individuals of limited means or to organizations that serve them or different underrepresented groups. JD college students who full the pro bono pledge by performing at least 50 hours of professional bono work during law faculty are acknowledged with a particular designation on their transcripts.
